Creating a gallery photo wall is the perfect solution to displaying your favourite photographs, and at the same time adding a trendy, stylish space to your home! Here’s a few tips to get you started.
Choose the Space
It’s important to make sure you’ve got enough space on your wall to really make your Photo Wall work. Whether it’s in your living room, hallway, or bedroom, having sufficient space means you can get creative and position your frames perfectly.
Choose a Theme
To give your gallery wall that sleek, cohesive appearance, you might want to stick to a particular theme. This could be the type of images – e.g., family pictures or holiday snaps. You could also stick to the same frame moulding.
Decide on a Layout
To make it easier for yourself, plan your layout prior to hanging your frames. You could mock up a layout on your computer or simply spread the images out on the floor. Things to consider:
- Image orientation – landscape or portrait and how these will fit in with each other?
- Subject matter – you may want a scenic image next to a family shot to make it flow nicely
- Composition – images with more negative (blank) space may look best next to a more detailed, close up shot
