1) Wipe your lens

Fingerprints and smudges can be on the surface of your phone camera lens without you realising, and it can ruin your images. Give it a wipe with a microfiber cloth to ensure your photos are smudge-free!
2) Gridlines

Ensure the gridline setting is enabled on your camera settings. This allows you to take your photographs with more precision. Bonus tip: google ‘rule of thirds’ if you don’t already know about it!
3) Focus

Before taking every photograph, ensure you tap the screen where you want the image to be in focus. The last thing you want is for your subject to be out of focus so make sure to do this!
4) Exposure

You can adjust the exposure of your image before you take it. Tap the screen and adjust the slider up or down.
5) Portrait mode

If your phone has this feature, it can create beautiful images in the right setting. Try it out by capturing a close up image of an object and play around to see how the feature works.
6) Consider a tripod

In order to avoid ‘camera shake’ or blurring, it might be worth investing in mobile phone tripod. This is particularly advised if you’re doing night photography – the longer the exposure the more chance of motion blur.
